Module 1
Module 2
Your music collection is your toolbox as a DJ, and so in this module, Angelo shares how he discovers and obtains music, how he prepares his music, how he rehearses and edits his tracks, and how he builds his playlists and sets. He also gives you tips on setting up your gear and software. By the end of this module, you’ll be ready to get mixing...
Module 3
To perform the kind of complex tricks that Angelo is famous for, there are a set of techniques you need to master first and foremost, as they appear throughout many of the routines. So in this module, you’ll get up to speed on things like scratching, beat juggling, and quick mixing using just a single deck! It doesn’t matter if you’ve never done any of this before, as Angelo leads you gently through what you need to know.
Module 4
Now you’ve got a toolbox of techniques, it’s time to start building them into combos you can use in real-world DJing situations. In this module, it’s all about tricks you can perform over tracks - in other words, we’re not yet transitioning between two tracks, instead we're using performance mixing techniques to embellish the track that’s already playing.
Module 5
Acapellas are a huge part of how Angelo DJs, so much so they get their own module. You’ll learn the “acapella switch” (which is a trick that could equally belong in the “Tricks Over Tracks” section), a two-track transition variant of it, how to use acapellas to “bridge” two songs... plus, Angelo introduces you to Word Play, too.
Module 6
Melody glues DJ sets together. Using things like Tone Play, Pitch Play, the manipulation of musical key, and playing with melody to tease and delight, Angelo lifts the lid on so many of the ways he uses melody to bring cohesion and smoothness to his routines. Get ready to learn them all in this far-reaching module.
Module 7
As a performance DJ, of course you simply cannot play at one tempo or in one genre, and so having techniques in your toolbox to alter the BPM (sometimes drastically), and switch between genres, is essential. In this module, you’ll learn how to increase and drop the tempo, and how to make genuinely huge tempo changes.
