Module 2: "Setting Up"

Whether it's getting your music into Serato, or getting Serato to work with your hardware, this is where you'll find the answers. We cover using Serato with a controller (the way most people use it), how to set it up with turntables and a mixer ("DVS" mode), how to use it with pro club gear ("HID" mode), and how to add, analyse and prepare your music for DJing with Serato. By the end of this module, you'll be ready to start DJing.

Module 3: "Basic Use"

With DJ gear plugged in, Serato looks very different to how it looks in "Offline Mode". So from here on in, you'll learn about all of this. We'll start by giving you a tour of the virtual decks, before moving on to the music library, basic use of the mixer/decks to play music, how to use "Simple Sync" to keep things in time, and how to record a performance within Serato - something you'll be ready to do by the end of the module.

Module 5: "Advanced Use"

Starting with the exciting, recent real-time Stems features, we talk you through some of the most powerful stuff in Serato. You'll learn about Serato's world-standard key detection, lock, shift and sync features. We then move on to the sampler and "Scratch Banks" for using samples in your DJ sets. And, we explain how to use Pitch Play and Serato Flip to really mess with the tracks you're using, rather than just playing them.

Module 6: "Tips & Tricks"

By now you've got a solid handle on most of the DJ features of the software - but there's so much more. So in this module of tips and tricks, you'll master things like Serato's Practice Mode for set prep, its Play Expansion Pack for DJing with just a laptop, how to use the little-known History feature to see previous sets and to build new ones from them, how to relocate lost music, and how to record or livestream Serato's output away from the app itself.

Module 8: "Final Bits"

To end the course, here you'll find an in-depth tour of every setting, tick box, knob and drop-down inside the Settings Menu, as well as a feature-by-feature look inside the Serato database folder, where you'll learn an alternative and pretty cool way to add music to Serato. Finally, we give you some ideas of the perfect "next" courses to take, now that you've got up to speed with Serato.
